Host Family Payments

All host family payments are made to our host families directly through UKguests and not your guests. The amount paid will depend on the category you have been placed in and the meal plan meal offered to your guest

  • BB = Bed and Breakfast which is a continental breakfast. Most students will prepare their own breakfast as the majority of host families' work. However, if you have a bed & breakfast guest, it is your responsibility to provide the provisions for them.
  • HB = Breakfast and Evening meal which is a continental breakfast and the same evening meal as you and your family have. This should include a desert which can be hot or cold.
  • FB = Full Board Breakfast consists of a continental breakfast, an evening meal and a packed lunch (sandwiches, fruit, drink. 5 days per week)
  • SC = No Meals to be prepared by host families. Hosts will need to allocate storage space in their kitchen cupboard and fridge for a Self Catering student. (Student/Guests will use host family kitchen utensils)

UKguests will confirm which categories host families will be placed in following a visit from our visiting officers this will then verify the amount you will be paid.

The Easy Steps to Becoming a Host Family

Use Our Online Application Form

Following the receipt of your completed application form UKguests will acknowledge receipt of your form. If you do not hear from UKguests within 3 days of you sending in your application please do not hesitate to call us on: +44 (0) 208 558 4466 or info@ukguests.co.uk

Our Host family visits are usually carried out on a Saturday. A member of our team will contact you 3 to 4 days before our proposed visit to arrange a convenient time. Where possible, our staff will confirm if your application to host has been successful following our visit to your home.

Finally, we can then start to place our students/guests in your home, and you can start earning and forming lasting friendships with your guests.

I think that it is a good idea that International students live in a British family when they come to England. In this way, students can learn English easier and practise it all the time. They can also know English lifestyle and English customs.
