Our homestay hosts

UKguests have a range of homestay hosts who are ready to make their home yours. We offer a variety of accommodation to suit your individual needs.

We can assure you that all our homestay accommodation has been inspected by our accommodation officers to ensure that it meets the British Council standards. Our homestay homes are monitored on a regular basis to ensure our high standards and quality of service are maintained.

The majority of our homestay accommodation is in residential areas of London, located in Zones 2, 3 and 4 near to tube or train stations. We also offer executive homestay accommodation in Zones 1 and 2 (this is subject to availability at the time of booking).

What can you expect from your hosts?

  • To be treated as part of the family.
  • Open communication, support and advice.
  • A comfortable and adequately furnished room in good decorative order.
  • Adequate heating.
  • Facilities for a daily shower.
  • Access to washing and ironing facilities.
  • Internet access (dependent on availability).
  • An orientation of your local area to show you the location bus stops, tube/train stations, shops and other useful places.
  • An emergency contact number.

What can your hosts expect from you?

  • A courtesy call to advise your host of your arrival time at their home.
  • Extremely good manners, such as saying 'good morning', 'good evening' and 'thank you' when appropriate.
  • Respecting your hosts' home and following any house rules.
  • Notifying your hosts if you are going to be late home or staying overnight with friends (to avoid unnecessary worry).
  • Asking your hosts permission before inviting visitors into their home.
  • Asking your hosts permission before using their address for any purpose.

Please remember that your hosts are not there to serve you, but to ensure that you have a pleasant stay and to guide and support you along the way.
