What do we ask of our host families?

We ask that our host families welcome our students/guests in their homes. Ensure that your guests in treated like a member of family who is visiting rather than a tenant or paying guests.

On your students /guests arrival at your home and during their stay please take time to give your guests an orientation of your local area including; how to use London transport, purchasing an oyster card, mobile phones and sim cards and how to access/visit places of interest. Where possible we also ask that our host families exchange mobile numbers with their students/guests in the event of an emergency especially in the first few days of their arrival to the UK.

All hosts hosting students/visitors under the age of 18 must have a current Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check
We request that our host families have their evening meal with our student/guests and engage in conversation with their student on a daily basis.
It is very important that host families do not host two students of the same nationality at the same time. (Unless booked as a twin booking through UKguests).

Student Room

Our host families are required to provide the following for their student/visitor.

Single or Double bed
Bed linen which must be changed on a weekly basis
Desk & Chair
Mirror
Wardrobe or drawer space
Adequate Heating
Adequate Lighting
Facilities for a daily shower or bath
Access to washing & Ironing facilities on a weekly basis
Internet access (dependent on availability)
An emergency family contact number

I think that it is a good idea that International students live in a British family when they come to England. In this way, students can learn English easier and practise it all the time. They can also know English lifestyle and English customs.
